Introduction to CSS Exam
CSS Exam refers to Central Superior Service Exam. CSS Exam is supervised and managed by Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Islamabad every year for the induction of candidates to positions (BS-17) in the following services under the Federal Government. These examinations were conducted initially in Great Britain. Aspirants from subcontinent have to go there for examination.

Eligibility Criteria for CSS
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria for appearing in the examination.
Nationality: The aspirant must be a citizen of Pakistan or a permanent resident of Azad & Jammu Kashmir.
Education: The aspirant must have a Bachelors degree with 2ndDiv. from HEC recognized institution.
In case of 3rd Div. in Bachelor Degree an aspirant must have higher grade in Master Degree or equivalent.
Age: Age for applicant is from 21 to 30 years. 32 years for the applicant currently serving in Government organization/ Public sector body or belongings from recognized tribal areas.

Phycological Assessment: This particular portion is the fundamental ingredient of evaluating a candidate’s phycological abilities in accordance with the overall aptitude, attitude& personality traits towards the utmost compatibility with the services.
Written Assessment: Written part is concerned with the subjective & objective portion of the examination comprises detailed & thorough evaluation through knowledge, observational, analytical, argumentative & cognitive abilities of an aspirant in a variety of subjects he or she opted for the examination coupled with compulsory (mandatory) subjects.
Medical Evaluation: Medical evaluation is the detailed metrics of medical fitness including physical & mental agility with the prescribed standards of the examination according to FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission) terms & conditions.
Interview: Interview of the CSS aspirants is for those who effectively cleared Phycological, Written & Medical. The interview for the CSS is different from a corporate job interview due to many reasons.
The main reason is that in CSS interviews there is an astute & smart assessment of candidate’s wide domains of knowledge areas rather than pondering on specific areas. The panel constitutes about 4 to 5 members of senior grade officers of BS 20 & 21.
The tenure of the interview is normally from 45 mins. It may exceed more than that up to 1 hour.
